Food Labelling Services comments:

All claims on Food and Food Supplements have to be registered on the relevant register - The Nutrition and Health Claims Register (NHCR) for the EU and the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims register (NCR). Any other claim on a food or food supplement is unauthorised, and should be removed unless it is a 'General Health Claim.

A general health claim is one which state, suggests or implies that a relationship exists between a food and health. General health claims can refer to an effect which is generally beneficial, for example “healthy” or “good for you”. General health claims should only be made if they are accompanied by an appropriate specific authorised health claim on the NHCR. The authorised health claim should be in the same spatial proximity or have a direct visual link between the general and the authorised health claim, so that the average consumer can immediately recognize the link between the two claims.
