Organic product agreement between the EU & UK

The European Commission has said that it will recognise the 6 organic certification schemes operating in the UK for a year post Brexit.
On 24 December 2020, the UK Government reached an agreement with the EU on the highly anticipated Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). The TCA was ratified by the UK Parliament on 30 December 2020 and will be applied provisionally in the EU from 1 January 2021, pending ratification by the EU Parliament in early 2021.The TCA provides for an equivalence agreement between the UK and EU, which means that products certified as organic in one market will be recognised as organic in the other.
Nitrates and charcuterie: French MPs call for 2025 ban

A French Parliamentary report recommends the use of nitrates in processed meats should be gradually phased out by 2025 over concerns that consumption of this controversial additive – used to extend the shelf life and prevent the oxidisation of processed meats – can be linked to a higher cancer risk.
