
‘Rules of origin are too complicated’: Complex regulations undermine free-trade agreements, trade body warns

Several European countries, noteably France, Italy and Spain have introduced national Country of Origin (COOL) labelling projects. THe outcome of the French pilot study is due to be reported in December. There is a concern that by introducing the national COOL regulation, there may be restriction of trade across the single market.
