In product labelling, great care must be taken in ensuring the legal name accurately describes the nature of the food. The term 'Plant based' should be limited to those products that are derived from plants. This leaves a section of the market where products have been derived from mycoproteins or fungi that should not be declared as 'plant based' but should rather be declared as 'meat free' or 'vegan'
